About the Company
Careers in Spanish offers services and products to students, individuals, and organizations in the Humanities. The company combines teaching experience, academic advising, and career development. Services include mentoring sessions, résumé writing, book reviews, webinars, speaking events, and more.
The mission is to prepare students in the Humanities to become competitive professionals outside of academia and help students with degrees in Spanish to thrive in a global world.
About Me
Melissa Figueroa is a former academic advisor, advising coordinator, and Associate Professor of Spanish. She has more than 15 years of experience teaching Spanish at all levels at different institutions. She holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Literatures and Cultures from Cornell University.
She combines her experience in language teaching, academic advising, and career coaching. This combination allows her to assist students looking for jobs and strengthen their résumés based on courses taken instead of degrees completed. She prefers to assist students in the Humanities, and, particularly, students with a degree related to Spanish.
